Itchy, dry, flaky skin can be irritating and unpleasant. I’m a person with crazy dry skin, so I understand! Dry skin (which is worse in dry weather) can be due to a variety of reasons, including taking hot showers, exposure to the sun, weather changes, harsh chemical soaps, malnutrition, and dehydration, as well as certain medications and medical conditions like diabetes and hypothyroidism.
The harsh winters and dry climate can exacerbate the condition of my skin. People with oily skin can experience rough, dry, and itchy skin. Simple home remedies are the best way to solve this problem. You can easily make homemade face packs using items you’ll find in the kitchen, fridge, cabinets, and kitchen garden. These face packs can help fix your dry skin issue while giving your skin an all-natural glow and maintaining its health. These homemade face packs will pamper your dull, dry, and rough skin.
Papaya + Honey Face Pack
The papaya fruit is sweet, juicy, and delicious. It is also a rich source of flavonoids, vitamin A, antioxidants, and minerals, such as potassium and magnesium. The vitamin A in papaya gives your skin a radiant glow and helps to nourish dry, rough skin. Potassium is also present and works by hydrating the skin cells. Regular papaya application on the skin helps to prevent premature aging and wrinkles.
Honey’s benefits for hair and skin are well known. Honey is a natural moisturizer that increases the capacity of your skin to retain moisture while also exfoliating and improving skin tone.
This is what you need to do:

- Add one tablespoon of honey to the papaya paste, and combine well.
- Apply the paste to your face after washing your face.

- Apply this face pack three to four days a week for a glowing, smooth complexion.
Face Pack Milk + Almond.
The best natural moisturizer is milk. It’s full of vitamin B, antioxidants, proteins, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It’s a natural source of Biotin, too. Biotin, a Vitamin B-complex vitamin, helps heal dry and cracked skin. Milk’s nutrients restore moisture to the skin. Milk contains potassium, which soothes dry skin by rehydrating it.
Almond contains Vitamin E, antioxidants, and proteins. These are essential for healthy, well-nourished skin. It’s also an antiaging agent that prevents wrinkles and age spots from appearing.
It would help if you did this: Pre-soak about 8 to 10 almonds for about an hour before making the face mask. The almonds must become a little soft before being ground into a paste.
Add a little milk (around two tablespoons) to the paste once you have ground it. Mix them and then apply them to your face and neck. Massage the paste in circular, soft motions for 2 to 3 minutes. Allow it to stay on your face for 20-30 minutes, then wash it with water. You can also use cold water. This face pack must be applied twice weekly for healthy, soft, and supple-looking skin.
Banana + Olive Oil Face Pack
Bananas can be used to treat both oily and dry skin. What a great thing to know! Bananas are rich in phytochemicals, antioxidants, and moisture. They can be used to nourish dry, rough, and dull skin. The bananas heal the skin, revitalize damaged skin cells that cause flaking and promote cell generation to add a natural glow. Potassium is a primary mineral that helps moisturize dry skin.
Olive oil has been used since ancient times for its benefits. Olive oil is not only good for the skin but also hair. It can soothe and condition your skin on all parts of the body. When you apply moisturizer, try dabbing extra virgin olive oil underneath. It is an excellent moisturizer for the skin that’s dry. It also helps to regenerate skin tissue, making it soft and young.
It would help if you did this:
- Mash a banana in a bowl and add one tablespoon of olive oil.
- Blend the ingredients, and then apply them to your neck and face.
- Let it rest on your face for 20-30 minutes.
- Wipe it off with a cotton ball dampened in water.
- Rinse your face using cold water.
This face mask must be applied at least twice weekly to get naturally glowing, soft skin. Rub or lightly massage olive oil on your entire body or the areas that tend to be dry (legs, arms, tummy) about 30 minutes before you hop in the shower. Apply a thin layer after showering.
Yogurt + Rosewater Face Pack
It is rich in vitamins and lactic acids, improving the skin’s complexion and giving it a healthy glow. It restores moisture to dry, irritable skin by hydrating it. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities of yogurt are due to the multiple nutrients it contains. These properties help reverse any damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress. It is a natural treatment for age marks, pigmentation, and fine lines.
Conversely, Rosewater acts as a cleanser, removing oil, impurities, and dirt from your skin. Rosewater also helps to boost hydration and moisturize your skin.
It would help if you did this:
- Pour two tablespoons of yogurt into a bowl.
- Make sure that it’s unflavored.
- Whisk it until it becomes smooth.
- Mix it with a tablespoon of Rosewater.
- Apply the mixture to your face and neck, and leave it for 20-30 minutes.
It can be washed off with water. It would help if you used this pack twice a week at the very least to reap its benefits. You’ll see softer, smoother skin that is more even-toned and brighter after regular use.
Aloe Vera + Cucumber Face Pack
Aloe vera is excellent for hair and skin. All skin types, not just those with dry skin, can benefit from it. Aloe gel is perfect for dry skin because it can hydrate and nourish your skin and improve its ability to retain moisture.
Cucumbers are an excellent remedy for dry skin. They also treat other skin conditions. The cucumber is high in vitamins A & C, essential to dry skin care. Cucumbers also contain other nutrients, such as folate, iron, magnesium, and potassium. Silica, a mineral found in cucumbers, is a powerful skincare ingredient. It can keep skin firm, give it shape and body, and is a component of connective tissue. Unsurprisingly, cucumbers are 95% water and can help maintain skin moisture and hydration.
This is what you need to do: Cut an Aloe Vera Leaf and scrape out the gel with a teaspoon. About one teaspoon of Aloe Gel should be left. Grate about a tablespoon of cucumber. Mix the aloe and cucumber pulp and apply it to your face and neck. After 15 to 20 minutes, rinse it off. This pack should be used at least twice per week for hydrated skin.
Face Serum Saffron + milk
Since ancient times, this slightly expensive Ayurvedic ingredient has nourished the skin. Saffron (or Kesar) is a skin-nourishing spice used for centuries. It helps to boost your natural glow, improve your skin tone, and make it more vibrant and supple. Saffron helps to reduce dryness and dullness in the skin and gives it an elegant appearance.
Malai contains lactic acids, which help exfoliate dry skin. Milk cream’s soothing properties also help maintain your skin’s delicate pH balance. Milk cream and its many benefits are an excellent moisturizer that brings life back to dull, lifeless skin.
You need to do this: Pour two tablespoons of cream milk into a bowl and add between four and five strands of saffron. It is best to leave it in its current state for ten or 15 minutes. Mix it up again after ten minutes of letting it sit, and apply it to your face and neck. After about 20 minutes, wipe off the residue with a cotton pad and splash cold water (face and neck) on your skin. This routine should be performed every alternate day to get excellent results. You will notice that your face will glow, your skin’s texture will improve, and it will be more smooth and soft.
Gram Flour + Curd Facial Mask
Gram Flour (also known as Besan or Besan) is a natural exfoliator that helps to remove skin tan. It can also clean your face, removing dirt, dead skin cells, and impurities that clog pores and cause pimples. Due to its excellent benefits for the skin, it is used in many face packs and masks. The gram flour mixed with curd gives a moisturizing and rejuvenating boost to dry, dull skin. It also improves the skin tone and provides it with a flawless shine.
You need to do this: Put two tablespoons of Gram flour (besan) in a bowl, and add one teaspoon of curd. Apply the mask to your face and neck after mixing them until you have a paste-like consistency. Allow the mask to dry; this should take between 20 and 30 minutes. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer and wash it off with cold, running water. Use this mask at least twice or thrice weekly to exfoliate the skin and remove impurities.
