Cerave moisturising cream

My opinion of CeraVe Cream has changed for the best. This is enough to elevate it to the holy grail status, so I updated the original review. I’ll leave most of the initial comments in place but will add some additional remarks along the way.

CeraVe Cream Ingredients and Benefits

The complete list of ingredients is below.

This moisturizer is unique in that it doesn’t fit into the category of 95% of all skincare products on the market (literally. What’s that, you ask?

It is 100% safe for skin that is sensitive to Malassezia. There is no yeast in the list of ingredients. This is excellent news for you if you have any skin conditions.

  • Adult acne (people between the ages of 20 and 30 have an excess of Malassezia compared to other age groups).
  • Atopic dermatitis is also known as eczema. Eczema is a skin condition (usually associated with M.globosa or M.furfur).
  • Dandruff. (Probably caused by my M.globosa).
  • Malassezia folliculitis, a.k.a. Fungal acne, is most commonly caused by M.globosa or M.furfur.
  • Psoriasis is a skin condition that can be caused by M. furfur (also known as M.restricta
  • Seborrheic Dermatitis (M. furfur, M.globosa, M.restricta are the most
  •
  •  Tinea versicolor a.k.a. Pityriasis vericolor is caused by M.globosa (M. sympodial

Note that all the above skin conditions share a common pathology — Malassezia, a yeast. This is the reason for your symptoms if you have one of these diseases.

The Malassezia skin condition is particularly frustrating because it feeds on oils and fatty acids. Most skincare products will contain these ingredients in

You may have noticed that every. STINKING. PRODUCT. Many products can cause your skin to react. It could be an eczema outbreak or a new set of acne.

It’s a combination of MCT oil, ceramides, and fatty alcohols. All of which do not feed Malassezia.

The only products compatible with Malassezia in the CeraVe range are CeraVe moisturizing. All other products, such as serums, lotions, etc., are incompatible with Malassezia. They might cause you problems because they use food-grade ingredients for the yeast.

Back to the benefits of Cerave Cream.

Glycerin

Humectants draw water from the dermis and the environment to moisturize the skin. This ingredient, which is so high on the list of ingredients, makes up at least 5 percent of this formula.

Ceteareth-20 and other fatty alcohols, such as cetearyl, cetyl, and cetearyl acetate, detoxify the product, making it silky smooth.

Caprylic/Capric triglycerides

Also called medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil. Coconut oil is coconut oil without lauric acid.

What is the benefit?

It allows the oil to remain liquid at room temperature, making it an ideal cosmetic ingredient. Imagine trying to squeeze out solid coconut oils from a moisturizing bottle.

The lauric acid is removed, making the oil more tolerant to many skin types. This is especially true for those who have Malassezia-induced sensitivities. adult acne, atopic dermatitis/eczema, dandruff, malassezia folliculitis/fungal acne, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, tinea versicolor/pityriasis versicolor).

Remember from the above information that Malassezia feeds off oils. This is because Malassezia hydrolyzes fatty acids found in oils.

English = The stupid yeast which causes the skin problems listed above can break down specific oil parts. It then uses these to grow and worsen your skin issues. Woohoo! (Sarcasm)

This rule does not apply to MCT oil or caprylic/capric triglycerides. It is a mixture of saturated fatty acid chains that are 8 and 10, respectively. They are, therefore, “too short,” meaning malassezia cannot use them.

Mineral oil and squalane can be used too.

The fatty acids in MCT oil are even more enjoyable. Caprylic and capric are direct inhibitors of Malassezia. They work as natural antifungals.

Takeaway:

CeraVe Cream is unique because it contains no fatty acids, esters, or polysorbates. It also has no oils except for caprylic/capric triglycerides. This makes it a product that will not aggravate skin conditions like eczema. This is something that you can’t say about 90% of moisturizers.
