We're hitting the road and heading up to Brisbane this weekend for the Finders Keepers Markets. The team behind the FK Markets always put together an amazing ensemble of talented artists and designers, so make sure you head to The Old Museum this Saturday or Sunday (11am-6pm) and come say hi!

I'm obsessed with the new Wavves record, 'King of the Beach'. I thought his previous couple of bedroom produced albums ('Wavves' and 'Wavvves') were a little hit or miss, but he's cleaned up his sound a little and gone for a slightly more commercial sound (don't worry lo-fi enthusiasts, there's still plenty of fuzz), to produce what is surely one of the records of the year. The first single, and one of the many excellent songs on the album is 'Post Acid', and despite originally thinking it sounded like a lost Blink 182 B-Side, I love it. Check out to see how perfectly it goes with the absolutely terrible 1986 John Cusack teen comedy 'One Crazy Summer' on this fan made video.
Posted by Marc ...Josh Keyes' surrealist nature paintings are blowing my mind. They look like a David Lynch adaptation of a Disney movie.
There's plenty more on his website so make sure you head over and check them out.
Here's another mixtape to keep you warm for the next few chilly months! Best one yet me thinks...

I have always loved this set of photos from photographer Neil Krug's collaboration with model Joni Harbeck for their Pulp Art Book. The colours and subject matter make my eyes pop.
You can purchase prints from the Pulp Art Book website.
Hot Spa - Kiola Beach
This is the new video from young unsigned Sydney band Hot Spa, which features old family videos of the lads holidays to Kiola Beach. As far as I can tell this is their only song, which is okay cos they've aced this one so they're 1 from 1 - but I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more from these dudes. Oh, and how the hell do they do that chair surfing thing? I want a piece of that please.
Posted by Marc ...Just wanted to give a big up to my lady (and co-designer for Das Monk), Anna Lunoe, for being nominated as one of Sydney's most creative people at Creative Sydney. She was nominated by Sass & Bide's Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke for putting together the music for their show at this year's fashion week in London (which the London Daily named best in show tunes). Plus, she has to put up with me on a daily basis, which should deserve an award in itself.
Above is us at the launch of Creative Sydney at the MCA last Friday, snapped by Dan Boud.
We're having a good ol' fashioned winter sale for the entire month of June! Jump in and get your 20% off by entering "DASMONKFREEZE" at the checkout.
You're welcome!
ceo - Come With Me
Here's the first track from The Tough Alliance's Eric Berglund aka ceo. Sounds just like TTA which is just fine by me. The album, White Magic, should be out at the end of the month on Modular.
Posted by Marc ...Below are some of the illustrations from C.W. Moss's truly brilliant "Unicorn Being a Jerk", a title which pretty much sums up the entire book. If this doesn't win a Pulitzer I don't know what will.
