I first heard of Nerve City through their excellent Catholic School EP earlier this year. I thought they were a full band, but turns out it's just one dude in his room recording a bit of lo-fi garage gold. (Heard that one before huh). Anyway this song Sleepwalker is an awesome little ditty, probably my favourite song of his so far.

Das Monk x Anna Lunoe for Concrete Playground
The guys at Concrete Playground are putting together a book of Sydney's 50 best young creative talents, and we were pretty chuffed to be a part of that list, along with some of our favourite designers Greedy Hen, Elke Kramer, Trust Fun and We Buy Your Kids. Anna and I had to submit two pages of our inspiration for the book (Anna was nominated on her own for her DJing but we decided to do it as a team), so we decided to take some images of her and put our own creative spin on it by giving it the Das Monk collage treatment. Anna got busy with the watercolours while I started messing round with photoshop and the results are our two pages below. The book should be out soon!

I just got a whole lot of demos by Toro Y Moi aka Chaz Bundick and they're all pretty amazing. He covers a lot of ground from lo-fi pop to electronica to straight up indie. Definitely looking forward to a proper release from this dude in the near future.

This one's been going around for a while now but thought I'd show it some love on the blog. Why do all my favourite albums have weird collages for their cover art?

So the logical next step of course is Das Monk!
They're located right in the thick of it just near Times Square, at 1411 Broadway # 2550, New York City.

Washed Out - Feel It All Around

This song is a real slow burner. I love it. Hands down one of my favourite tracks of the year.

So many great summery songs out at the moment. I think I'm going to make a mixtape!
Oh yeah and how good are Real Estate... they've released a heap of killer tracks the last year and are finally releasing their full length very soon. Can't wait.
